  This site has health information on a wide variety of topics, with special sections for children, women, men and seniors. There is an extensive index, a dictionary, a section on healthy living, and information in Spanish. All material is written and reviewed by physicians and patient education professionals.

• FDA Information for Seniors

  This site from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has easy-to-read articles on a variety of health issues that affect older adults. Topics include arthritis, cancer, nutrition, food safety, and women's health. There are also links to other organizations with information for older adults.

• KidsHealth

  This site is colorful, well-organized, and full of pictures. There are sections for parents, kids, and teens, each with a Spanish section. There is an index, glossary, and interactive games. The kids’ articles are easy to read but written for children. There are many ways to use this site with adult learners. Audio option on parts if you have FlashPlayer.

• U.S. FDA Easy-to-Read Publications

  This site has a collection of easy-to-read brochures in English and Spanish on a variety of health topics. You can print them or order free copies.

• Ethnomed

  This site contains easy-to-read fact sheets about a variety of health conditions, and multimedia presentations on colon cancer. Materials are available in several languages, but there is always an English version. The site also has information about cultural beliefs of certain ethnic groups as they relate to medical issues and health care management.

• NIH Consumer Health Publications

  This site is from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), a large group of government health organizations. It has a huge collection of short articles about many different kinds of health problems. You can find almost any topic, but they are not all easy-to-read. Information in Spanish

  This easy-to-read guide has information about how to choose a good managed care health plan, and how to use the services they offer. Slightly out of date, but good for preparing learners to make informed choices, navigate the system, and advocate for their health care needs.
