The Canadian Public Health Association (CPHA) and the University of Toronto's Centre for Health Promotion have launched a three-year project to develop a national program for literacy and health research. A number of their research reports are available online.

One of the NCSALL research projects is the Health and Adult Learning and Literacy (HALL) Study. The project addresses the impact of limited literacy skills on health activities and outcomes, builds understanding of literacy among public health and medical professionals, and helps devise health-related curricula for adult literacy educators.
