| The HEAL:BCC Curriculum
is designed to help adults with limited literacy skills understand
and navigate the health care system. The curriculum includes a series
of lessons divided into four units. The final unit includes a selection
of class projects that invite students to share what they have learned
with others.
As a whole, the
curriculum guides students towards a deeper understanding of health
in general, and breast and cervical cancer early detection and
screening specifically. In addition, learners gain the skills
and confidence they need to manage the health care system and
advocate for themselves and others.
