There are simple descriptions, simple narratives, charts, dialogue activities, and lots of grammar and comprehension exercises. This material is geared toward adults learning about the environment in the context of learning basic English. The workbook has large print and lots of photographs. The 11 chapters cover recycling in your community, reusing household items, shopping to reduce waste, recognizing and disposing hazardous waste, and how to find more information. This workbook comes in three multilingual versions that you can choose according to your mix of students. The key vocabulary words in each chapter are translated into six languages, which differ depending on the version. The versions are: Cambodian/Khmer, Chinese, Hmong, Lao, Korean, and Vietnamese; or Spanish, Somali, Farsi, Arabic, Russian, Bosnian; or Spanish, Russian, Bosnian, Somali, Hmong, and Vietnamese.
