These "training kits" have all the information needed to present basic information on occupational health and safety and are available in English, Spanish, Chinese, and Korean. There are two parts: A Trainer's Guide to Protecting Workers from Job Hazards and A Trainer's Guide to How Chemicals Affect the Body. Each guide, intended for a training session of one to two hours, includes lesson plans, classroom activities, and reproducible fact sheets to use as handouts. There is a section on Training Tips that addresses issues of cultural and literacy sensitivity, involving the learner, and assessing the needs of the audience among other things. The sessions are designed to be participatory and adaptable to diverse community and occupational settings. A Trainer's Guide to Protecting Workers from Job Hazards has activities to identify hazards on the job, develop a risk map of your workplace, and think about how to control the hazards. There is also more detailed discussion of different types of hazards and use of protective equipment. A Trainer's Guide to How Chemicals Affect the Body covers how chemicals enter the body, acute and chronic health effects, risk factors for getting sick from chemicals, how the chemicals affect your health, and how to control the health effects of various chemicals.
