A Word About Non-English Materials

Many of the health education materials listed in this guide are in languages other than English. While we made basic assessments of the English and Spanish materials, (quality of writing, reading level, and the accuracy of the information,) we were unable to do so for most of the other languages. If available, we assessed the English version of a material for accuracy, content, and obvious stereotypes, but we realize this kind of assessment is limited.

Therefore, we want to encourage you to explore and question the non-English materials included in the guide. We suggest you review the material with a native speaker before using it with students or patients. Having a native speaker review the material is the best way to ensure that the information and writing are accurate and appropriate.
